Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Clean and tidy guest rooms according to established standards, including making beds, dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning bathrooms.
  2. Replace linens, towels, and amenities in guest rooms as needed, ensuring all supplies are stocked and replenished.
  3. Perform general cleaning tasks in public areas such as lobbies, hallways, and elevators, including dusting, mopping floors, and emptying trash receptacles.
  4. Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces regularly, including door handles, light switches, and remote controls, to maintain hygiene standards.
  5. Inspect rooms for damage or maintenance issues and report any findings to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
  6. Handle guest requests for additional amenities or services courteously and promptly, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  7. Adhere to safety and security protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and compliance with OSHA regulations.
  8. Follow established procedures for lost and found items, ensuring any lost belongings are logged and stored securely for guest retrieval.
  9. Maintain cleanliness and organization in housekeeping storage areas, equipment, and carts.
  10. Collaborate with other housekeeping staff and departments to ensure efficient operations and guest satisfaction.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience as a housekeeper or in a similar cleaning role is preferred.
  2. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and supplies used in hospitality settings.
  3. Attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning and tidying guest rooms and public areas.
  4. Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting, for extended periods.
  5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a courteous and professional demeanor.
  7. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per the property’s schedule.
  8. Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction.
  9. Willingness to follow instructions, learn new tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
  10. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in housekeeping or hospitality is a plus.
