Job Description:

  • Job Summary: The hotel receptionist is the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations at the front desk. They handle guest inquiries, check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and assist with various administrative tasks to support the efficient functioning of the hotel.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Greet guests warmly as they arrive, addressing them by name if possible, and provide information about hotel facilities and services.
    2. Efficiently handle guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accuracy in reservation details, room assignments, and billing.
    3. Respond promptly to guest inquiries and requests, whether in person, over the phone, or via email, providing helpful and accurate information.
    4. Process reservations, cancellations, and modifications using the hotel’s reservation system, adhering to established procedures and policies.
    5. Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked and readily available.
    6. Handle cash, credit card transactions, and guest billing with accuracy and professionalism, following hotel accounting procedures.
    7. Assist guests with luggage storage, transportation arrangements, and other concierge services as needed.
    8. Coordinate with other hotel departments, such as housekeeping and maintenance, to fulfill guest requests and resolve issues promptly.
    9. Handle guest complaints and concerns with patience and empathy, striving to resolve issues to the guest’s satisfaction.
    10. Complete administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and preparing reports, to support front desk operations.

    Requirements:

    1. Excellent communication skills in English (and any additional languages as required), both verbal and written.
    2. Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
    3. Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
    4. Proficiency in computer skills, including experience with hotel reservation systems and MS Office applications.
    5. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    6. Attention to detail and accuracy in handling guest information and transactions.
    7. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per the hotel’s schedule.
    8. Professional appearance and demeanor, with a neat and well-groomed appearance.
    9. Knowledge of local attractions, restaurants, and transportation options is an advantage.
    10. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality or front desk operations is a plus.
