  2. Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding techniques, electrodes, and materials based on the type of metal, thickness, and welding process.
  3. Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, or cutting to ensure proper fit-up and welding quality.
  4. Perform welding operations using manual or automated welding equipment, maintaining accuracy, precision, and quality standards.
  5. Monitor welding parameters, such as voltage, current, and travel speed, to control the heat input and weld penetration.
  6. Inspect welded joints visually and using non-destructive testing methods, such as dye penetrant testing or ultrasonic testing, to detect defects and ensure weld quality.
  7. Perform welding repairs or modifications as needed to correct defects or meet project specifications.
  8. Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring proper ventilation in welding areas.
